As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. You will work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that each student receives the appropriate accommodations and modifications to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
Provide direct instruction and support to students in various subjects.
Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and teaching strategies.
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and needs.
Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant school meetings.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs.
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
