Job description

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Junior Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $95,000 to $115,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Controller in managing all accounting functions, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries for accruals, prepaids, and payroll allocations.
  • Coordinate with HR and payroll vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Process accounts payable transactions, including invoices, check runs, ACH payments, and reimbursements.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and payroll-related accounts monthly to maintain accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop/Online and ADP payroll systems.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
  • Apply strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and ensure accurate financial documentation.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end and year-end close.
  • Possess experience in nonprofit accounting and fund or grant management.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints.
  • Operate as a self-motivated team player with a commitment to professional development.
