FLSA Status : Exempt Reports To : Manufacturing Engineering Manager Seniority Level : Management Job Description : This position is responsible for providing process engineering support to the production lines and improving assembly processes. Office located in Houston, not remote, hybrid; expected in office during workday. Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform time studies and line balancing on assembly lines.
Support facility layout and improvement projects.
Train operators on assembly processes.
Propose and implement improvements to existing products, processes, and procedures.
Design and implement new tools to help improve quality and productivity.
Work with Test and Quality Engineers to reduce cycle-time and resolve manufacturing issues on a timely basis.
Assist Process Engineer in NPI (New Product Introduction) and process improvement.
Provide production floor support as required.
Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of Tact Time Analysis, Lean production methods, KanBan, and lean manufacturing
Understanding of quality systems such as Six Sigma
Knowledge of Manufacturing BOM (bill of material) structure
AutoCAD, Visio, and SAP knowledge
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills
Proven ability to function independently and multi-task
Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment Education and Experience :
Minimum Associate’s degree with 2 years of process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
