Job description
New Hampshire Housing’s mission is to promote, finance, and support housing solutions for the people of New Hampshire. We have empowered over 55,000 families to achieve their dream of homeownership and have played a pivotal role in funding the development of over 16,000 multifamily housing units. Our dedicated team manages thousands of Housing Choice Vouchers annually.

We’re on a mission, and we want your expertise!

Are you passionate about affordable housing and want to lead the construction standards that build stronger NH communities? Does the idea of working as a Construction Services Manager for a mission-based organization interest you? If so, we want you to join our team!

We’re hiring a full-time Construction Services Manager for our Multifamily Housing Division.

As the Construction Services Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction of projects that contribute to our mission. In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert oversight and strategic guidance to developers to ensure all projects comply with NH Housing’s Design and Construction Policy Rules (HFA 111), Design and Construction Standards, and Design and Construction Standards for Rehabilitation. Serve as a key resource for interpreting these requirements and helping external partners align with organizational expectations.
  • Lead the development, updates, and proposed revisions to multifamily construction policies and rules, helping to ensure consistency, quality, and clarity across all externally managed projects.
  • Collaborate with Development staff and external partners to conduct conceptual reviews of proposed projects and manage NH Housing’s construction bidding process.
  • Select, oversee, and monitor external inspectors responsible for plan reviews and property inspections. Partner with Development staff and external partners to resolve conflicts and ensure smooth communication between inspectors and development teams.
To support onboarding and training, the initial months of employment will be conducted primarily in-office. Following this period, remote work may be available on an intermittent basis, as determined by the manager.

Your experience, skills, and education should include:
  • Detailed knowledge of construction processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts and construction administration.
  • Knowledge of construction cost estimating practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Familiarity with building and life safety codes.
  • Ability to establish, monitor, and maintain a team of external construction inspection service providers.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and ability to learn new software systems as needed.
  • Nine years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in construction-related field.
You’ll love us because:
  • We prioritize our employees and invest in policies, benefits, and a workplace culture that supports their success.
  • You’ll join a collaborative, highly engaged team that values diverse perspectives.
  • We are a recognized leader in the affordable housing industry and take pride in the quality and impact of our work.
New Hampshire Housing is proud to offer:
  • Competitive salary
  • Multiple high-quality health insurance options
  • Vision plan
  • Employer-paid dental plan
  • Employer-paid disability insurance
  • Employer-paid life insurance
  • Undergrad and Graduate tuition reimbursement
  • Student loan repayment assistance
  • Two retirement plans with employer contributions to both
  • Flexible work schedules with remote/hybrid work options
  • Generous and flexible PTO plan
  • Paid volunteer time
  • Paid parental leave
  • Fitness rewards and reimbursement programs
  • And so much more!

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, New Hampshire Housing is committed to building a workforce that is as diverse as the people we serve.

Starting Pay: $75,500 - $94,300, dependent on relevant experience
