MANAGER, SPACEPORT OPERATIONS

The Spaceport Operations Manager will be responsible for directing and managing the organization’s housing accommodations and community. This role involves developing and implementing effective customer service strategies and training programs. Key responsibilities of the Spaceport Operations Manager will include, but are not limited to : coordinating service operations, monitoring and motivating staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, engaging with customers, hiring and developing talent, maintaining compliance with mandatory company training, managing scheduling and payroll, and conducting interviews and onboarding for new staff. The Spaceport Operations Manager will uphold customer service principles and support the mission by fostering a strong understanding of excellent customer service and high-quality living and visiting accommodations, which are essential for enhancing morale and productivity within SpaceX.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Oversees Spaceport village operations including strategy and execution leasing and traveler housing program
• Monitors quality and consistency of Spaceport operations by setting and enforcing standards, inspecting and routinely walking areas of responsibility
• Trains staff on customer service, anticipating guest needs and problem resolution
• Enforces proper safety practices with staff and leads
• Monitors financial activities for Spaceport operations strategically driving revenue and improving operating costs
• Manages performance for Spaceport Operations staff
• Assists in all aspects of project implementation to build out Starbase Village as needed, including aesthetic industrial design improvements
• Provides campus wide reporting on departmental spend, ticketing, and other metrics as requested
• Performs job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managers
• Creates RFPO’s and assists the buyers with vendor selection
• Works closely with Spaceport Development Team, Facilities, Culinary and Hospitality teams
