Position Overview The After-School Regional Program Manager oversees elementary and middle school after-school programs across Brooklyn, The Bronx and/or Manhattan, ensuring high-quality programming and compliance with DYCD requirements, consistent with DYCD’s emphasis on strong program quality, balanced enrichment, and contract adherence.
  • This role supervises Program Directors and collaborates closely with schools, families, and community partners to support student attendance, academic success, and social-emotional development, reflecting DYCD’s focus on coordinated, developmentally appropriate supports and provider performance monitoring. The After-School Regional Program Manager reports to the Chief Program Officer and ensures that program plans, data systems, and operational practices align with COMPASS expectations for high-quality after-school experiences that integrate academics, recreation, enrichment, and youth leadership opportunities. Key Responsibilities Supervise and develop Program Directors, Site Coordinators, and after-school staff, providing regular coaching, feedback, and professional learning opportunities to strengthen program quality and leadership capacity.
  • Ensure staff are trained in youth development, family engagement, and community school practices, including effective strategies for working in school-based environments and supporting student success.
  • Design, launch, and oversee innovative after-school and enrichment programming in collaboration with senior leadership to meet the evolving needs of students, families, and school partners. Manage program contracts and ensure compliance with all funders, DOE, DYCD, and regulatory requirements across multiple school sites. Develop and monitor Program budgets in partnership with the Chief Program Officer and Finance team, ensuring responsible fiscal management and alignment with program priorities. Support organizational growth by reviewing and responding to relevant funding opportunities and RFPs. Collaborate with school principals and partners to ensure strong program alignment and student outcomes. Collaborate with the Chief of Continuous Improvement to review and monitor evaluation and performance data to strengthen program outcomes. Facilitate leadership meetings with program staff to review operations, strategy, and program impact. Requirements DOE Fingerprinted Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred 5–10 years of experience in after-school or youth development programs 18 credits in Education, Psychology or a School-Age Child Care license Statewide Central Registry clearance Department of Health clearance Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, including staff and program management Experience overseeing after-school programs, preferably across multiple sites. Experience developing and managing program budgets. Strong leadership and supervisory skills Proven track record of developing new procedures, protocols, and programming. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Approach to Work Strong commitment to educational equity.
