Job description

Title: Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6-Month Contract with Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $34 $36/hr W2
Type: W2 Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and Inspection Checklists.
  • Define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters and establish Q-gates across manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor and analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) and identify opportunities to improve product quality and production efficiency.
  • Investigate customer complaints, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective Actions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams during customer audits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and UL, CSA, and ISO audits.
  • Perform Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) analysis to identify opportunities for defect reduction and cost savings.
  • Map manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in Manufacturing Quality Engineering or a similar manufacturing quality role.
  • Experience developing Quality Plans, Control Plans, and Inspection Checklists.
  • Strong knowledge of CTQ, Q-gates, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
  • Experience with customer complaint investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Actions.
  • Experience supporting FAT, customer, UL, CSA, or ISO audits.
  • Knowledge of COPQ analysis and continuous/process improvement.
  • Experience with manufacturing process mapping and automation/process optimization.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills.
