Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate CPA for a thriving real estate company located in the Sacramento area! This role will play a critical role in managing the company's tax processes. Core duties and responsibilities include:

• Manage the preparation and filing of Federal and state income tax returns, payments, and asset valuations for all entities.
• Review accounts and records to ensure accurate tax computation and compliance.
• Research tax laws and audits, calculate and review tax accruals, and prepare various tax reports.
• Organize and maintain tax records and lead special tax projects and studies as needed.
• Provide recommendations to management on corporate tax strategies based on thorough research and interpretation of tax laws.
• Handle requests from governmental agencies, including audit responses and appeals.
• Oversee the full 1031 exchange process, including initiation, processing, and closing of transactions.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2+ years of experience in Tax Accounting required, with preferred knowledge of 1031 exchanges, depreciation, and public accounting.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office Suite; experience with MRI software is a plus.
• CPA license required

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is from $125K to $150K, depending on experience.
