This position is a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, responsible for the provision of medical nutrition therapy for assigned patient populations. This person will collaborate with the Culinary Services department to ensure patient nutrition needs are met and will function as a community resource for nutrition information and education. This person actively participates in team managerial functions. The Clinical Dietitian consults with patients on nutritional need.
- Assist with development / implement policies / procedures that guide / support the provision of services
- Assist with recommendation on sufficient number qualified / competent staff to provide department services in support of provision
- Assist with patient diets
- Maintain registered dietitian (RD) status
- Knowledgeable of the principles and practices of Dietetics and Nutrition
- Assist with in-services education for the Culinary Services department
- Collaborates with the Neonatologist / NNP to plan diets that meet the special needs of neonates / infants
