Job Description

Job Summary :

Responsible for Reliability / Quality Engineering activities supporting the manufacture of Teledyne FLIR Cooled and Uncooled Camera Systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Contributes to product development as a sustaining team member supporting Teledyne FLIR’s Cooled and Uncooled Camera System level products.
  • Conducts product and process qualification planning, testing, and reporting for new designs and processes.
  • Responsible for fielded reliability metrics and reporting.
  • Coordinates containment and corrective action for non-conforming material.
  • Acts as primary Quality and Reliability Representative with suppliers and customers.
  • Leads regular quality status and improvement activities.
  • Conducts Failure / Trend Analysis and Analytical Problem Solving and recommends and implements corrective actions.
  • Generates quality procedures and work instructions as needed.
  • Travels as required to suppliers, customers and / or outside labs.
  • Strong cross-functional activities with Systems Engineering, Customer Service, Production, Process / Manufacturing Engineering, Customers, Suppliers, Executive Leadership.

Job Qualifications :

  • Collaboration & Teamwork is necessary to establish good working relationships with product teams.
  • Strong Communication Skills are necessary when creating proposals and communicating in writing, in such a manner, that it is easy to understand and interpret information.
  • Displaying strong personal Initiative and motivation is vital to achieve desired performance results with projects that support the organization.
  • Strong Oral Communication and Presentation Skills are essential when making oral and graphical presentations to capture the interest and involvement of the audience.
  • Essential Job Functions :

  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language.
  • Education and Experience :

  • BS in Engineering or Technical discipline required.
  • Two years working as a Reliability or Process / Manufacturing Engineer, preferably in the electromechanical field.
  • Six-Sigma training and / or certification preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following is preferred :
  • IR or similar technology.
  • Quality systems ala ISO 9001 : 2015.
  • Problem solving methodology and failure analysis tools.
  • Statistical process control.
  • Measurement system analysis (Gauge R&R).
  • Optical and mechanical inspection skills.
  • Electro-mechanical shaker systems and environmental chambers.
  • MS Office applications (must be proficient with Excel).
  • Statistical and reliability software applications.
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

    Salary Range :

    89,100.00-$120,230.00
