ResponsibilitiesThe Asili Hair Care Center Stylist will work with clients to achieve a desired hairstyle and advise clients on how to maintain style and hair health at home.  Member responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to : Client Management and Consultation : Service each client according to the Asili Service StandardsProvide a range of hair services including loc maintenance, two strand twists, flat twists, silk press and natural hair styling to meet client needs.Properly mediate conflict with clients and other stylistsMeet and exceed service goals and requirementsCommunicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations.Engage in retail sales by recommending suitable hair care products based on client needs.Salon Administration / Miscellaneous : Maintain salon cleanliness throughout shiftMaintain cleanliness of workstations and ensure all tools are sanitized after each use.Accurately record salon services and products soldParticipate in required trainingsMaintain a high level of working knowledge related to hair, health and beauty Collaborate with other stylists, as necessary, to ensure high quality service to clientsWORKING CONDITIONS : Asili stylist will share the salon space with the other Asili Hair Care Center staff.  They will have their own designated station and storage area with a shared break room. We are a drug free work place.Work is performed in a safe relaxing environment that is conducive to the needs of the client and the stylist.  Stylists will need comfortable shoes, as continuous standing is required. Regularly lifts, moves and carries objects of up to 10 pounds, such as products and supplies. Expected to frequently multitask.QUALIFICATIONS : Licensed by the state board of cosmetology in the state of MarylandProven experience with styling and caring for textured hair.Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.Computer skillsAbility to balance a variety of tasks simultaneouslyExcellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members.1 year experience preferredBenefits and CompensationBase hourly pay plus tipsPay is weeklyW2 paycheck with retirement and insurance benefitsOne week paid vacation after 1 year with the companyOpportunity for commission once production goals are metCareer advancement opportunitiesReimbursement for continued education.
