Job description

Vice President, Supply Chain

FDH Aero is a trusted global supply chain partner for aerospace and defense companies, providing end-to-end supply chain solutions for OEM and aftermarket customers. With more than 55+ years of experience and operations in 14 countries, we bring expertise across Commercial, Defense, Space, Business Aviation and Cargo through our specialized business divisions, Electronics, Hardware, Commercial Aftermarket, and Defense Aftermarket.

The Vice President, Supply Chain is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain strategy and performance of FDH Electronics, including strategic sourcing and procurement, demand and supply planning, inventory optimization, supplier performance, logistics, and supply chain systems and analytics.

This leader will build an integrated and scalable supply chain operating model that improves customer service, strengthens supply continuity, expands margins, and optimizes working capital. The VP will partner closely with leaders across Operations, Sales, Quality, Finance, IT, and the sites to translate business priorities into disciplined execution. The role will also provide supply chain leadership for acquisition diligence and integration.

As a Vice President, Supply Chain, you'll be responsible for:

Supply Chain Strategy & Value Creation

  • Develop and execute a multi-year supply chain strategy aligned with FDH Electronics' growth priorities, customer commitments, financial objectives, and acquisition agenda.
  • Establish a common supply chain operating model, governance structure, and performance cadence across distribution and manufacturing locations.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable plans for sourcing, capacity, inventory, network design, systems, and organizational capability.
  • Advise the President and executive leadership team on supply constraints, investment priorities, risks, and opportunities to improve service, margin, cash flow, and enterprise value.
  • Establish clear supply chain KPIs and accountability across the organization.

Integrated Business Planning, Demand & Supply Planning

  • Lead a disciplined Sales and Operations Planning/Integrated Business Planning process connecting demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and financial plans.
  • Improve forecast accuracy, material availability, schedule attainment, backlog visibility, and customer delivery performance.
  • Standardize planning policies and processes across distribution and manufacturing operations, including replenishment, production planning, material planning, and allocation during constrained supply.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to identify gaps early, evaluate scenarios, and align customer commitments with available capacity and supply.
  • Establish escalation and decision-making processes for significant shortages, capacity constraints, and competing customer priorities.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

  • Develop enterprise sourcing and procurement strategies using spend analytics, category management, supplier segmentation, and market intelligence.
  • Lead major supplier negotiations and commercial agreements to improve cost, availability, lead times, payment terms, quality, and contractual protections.
  • Deliver sustainable savings through supplier consolidation, competitive sourcing, demand aggregation, specification alignment, and should-cost analysis.
  • Develop strategic supplier relationships that provide FDH Electronics with improved access, responsiveness, and long-term commercial value.
  • Strengthen procurement governance, approval authority, contract discipline, and ethical purchasing practices across the division.

Supplier Performance, Quality & Risk

  • Establish supplier scorecards and executive review routines covering delivery, quality, lead time, responsiveness, cost, capacity, and risk.
  • Partner with Quality and Operations on supplier qualification, development, corrective action, traceability, and counterfeit-parts prevention.
  • Build a proactive supply risk-management program addressing sole-source exposure, capacity constraints, supplier financial health, geopolitical disruption, obsolescence, and business continuity.
  • Develop dual-source, alternate-material, buffer-stock, and recovery strategies where appropriate, balancing resilience with cost and working-capital impact.
  • Lead executive-level supplier interventions and recovery plans when supplier performance places customer commitments at risk.

Inventory & Working Capital

  • Own the division's inventory strategy and performance, balancing product availability and customer service with turns, cash conversion, carrying cost, and risk.
  • Implement segmentation-based inventory policies, safety-stock logic, reorder parameters, and lifecycle controls appropriate to customer demand and supplier lead times.
  • Lead governance for excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, including prevention, reserves, redeployment, supplier returns, and disposition.
  • Partner with Finance and site leaders to improve inventory accuracy, planning discipline, accountability, and working-capital forecasting.
  • Establish clear ownership and performance expectations for inventory across sites, product categories, and business units.

Logistics, Distribution & Trade Execution

  • Provide strategic oversight of inbound and outbound logistics, transportation, freight, third-party providers, and distribution network performance.
  • Improve delivery reliability and cost through carrier strategy, contract negotiation, shipment consolidation, routing standards, and reduced premium freight.
  • Evaluate the supply chain network and recommend changes to optimize customer service, capacity, cost, and scalability.
  • Ensure supply chain practices support applicable customs, import/export, sanctions, recordkeeping, and customer requirements in partnership with the appropriate compliance functions.

M&A Diligence & Integration

  • Lead supply chain diligence for potential acquisitions, including supplier concentration, contracts, inventory quality, systems, capacity, risk, and synergy opportunities.
  • Develop and execute integration plans that protect day-one business continuity while capturing sourcing, inventory, logistics, systems, and organizational synergies.
  • Integrate acquired businesses into the FDH Electronics supply chain operating model at a pace appropriate to customer, operational, and value-creation priorities.
  • Establish repeatable supply chain integration playbooks to support continued growth through acquisition.

Organizational Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply chain organization with clear roles, decision rights, performance expectations, and succession plans.
  • Assess organizational capability and ensure the structure and talent are appropriate to support the business's growth and complexity.
  • Create a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, continuous improvement, and fact-based decision-making.
  • Serve as an enterprise leader who works across functions and sites to resolve competing priorities and deliver the best outcome for FDH Electronics and its customers.
  • Represent Supply Chain in executive operating reviews and communicate risks, decisions, and results with clarity and candor.
