Job Summary

Please note there are two positions available : 7 am - 3pm, 40 hours per week, and 3 pm - 11 pm , 40 hours per week, M F. Both require fully onsite work at Parnassus campus. Duration of approximately three months with potential to extend.

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator, the Surgical Technologist assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience with spine surgeries.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR for healthcare providers.
• High School Diploma
