Rochester, NH Hospital Medicine APP (Night Shift) — Locum Tenens
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced APP (NP/PA) for an urgent Night Hospitalist coverage need in Rochester, NH. This opening is due to an APP resignation and requires a provider who can step in quickly and bring confidence to overnight inpatient coverage.
This is an on-site overnight role built for APPs who prefer nights, value clear expectations, and want a stable block schedule at a community-based hospital with solid clinical support.

Facility & Workload
- Hospital Size: 126 beds
- Daily Census: 40–50 (hospitalist service)
- Admissions (Nights): Avg 5–7 per night
- Consults (Nights): Avg 1–2 per night
- Common Consult Types: Ortho, Urology, and Cardiology post-cath
- Patient Population: Primarily geriatric
- Acuity / Trauma: Community hospital | Moderate medical acuity | No trauma designation
Night Shift Role — What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Overnight Coverage: Manage cross-cover and new admits for all inpatients under the hospitalist service
- Rounding: No rounding overnight (day team rounds)
- ICU: Covers call for all hospitalist-service inpatients (including ICU patients under service)
- Support Model: Tele-hospitalist supports the in-house APP at night
- Procedures / Vents: No procedures required | Vent management: Not required
- Code Response: Code Blues are responded to by the ER team
Orientation & Onboarding
- EMR training and shadow shifts will be provided
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Prior APP hospitalist experience preferred
- Licensure: Active & unrestricted NH license (NP/PA) and DEA (if applicable)
