  • Partner with project managers and field operations teams to proactively identify and mitigate electrical hazards before work begins.
  • Review and approve site-specific safety plans, energized work procedures, and project risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for subcontractor electrical safety compliance and corrective action management.
  • Represent the company during client, regulatory, and utility safety reviews and audits.
  • Develop and deliver training related to electrical safety, NFPA 70E, LOTO, trenching, excavation, confined space, and utility construction operations.
  • Support development and continuous improvement of safety management systems for utility and electrical infrastructure projects.

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical utility construction, including transmission, distribution, substations, underground electric systems, and renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, NESC, OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations, safe electrical work practices, and arc flash protection requirements.
  • Working knowledge of utility client standards, switching procedures, grounding requirements, and high-voltage operations.
  • Ability to communicate technical electrical safety requirements clearly to executives, clients, supervisors, and craft personnel.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, management of change reviews, and corrective action development.
  • Skilled in electrical hazard recognition, risk assessment methodologies, and hierarchy of controls.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, project management, and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments and travel to multiple project locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Unifier, ISNetWorld, PowerAdvocate, Veriforce, and Gold Shovel Standard.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of EHS experience supporting electrical utility, EPC, power delivery, or heavy industrial construction projects.
  • Minimum 4 years managing safety professionals and/or multi-state electrical safety programs.
  • Preferred certifications: CSP, CHST, OHST, CUSP, CESCP, OSHA 500/510, NCCER Construction Site Safety Technician or Supervisor, TapRooT/Apollo/ICAM or similar root cause analysis training, and DOT/PHMSA Operator Qualification awareness.
