Job description

Overview We are seeking a full-time Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer 2 at Garmin's Miramar, FL offices. In this role, you will be responsible for operating machines and ensuring the machine provides appropriate outputs as well as ensuring each product follows the original blueprint and all parts of the product are positioned correctly. Essential Functions Perform limited related activities applied to First Article Inspections Understand the importance of fixturing for the inspection process Able to set-up, program and operate CMM for basic inspections Perform duties and responsibilities of CMM Programmer 1 Assist in mentoring inspectors on Garmin documentation, requirements and inspection techniques as well as any new or revised procedures and methods Apply Lean principles and maintain 5S compliance and manage day to day priorities Capable of following a process to achieve a desired result and identify some areas of improvement Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED AND a minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming a CMM Meets or exceeds requirements of a CMM Programmer 1 Completed Fundamentals AND Advanced CMM and GD&T training Able to communicate inspection plans, findings, and issues to other programmers Open to continuing advanced knowledge of programming systems and GD&T Possess the ability to create an inspection plan and preform an inspection Demonstrates proficiency in using standard inspection tools and methods to perform duties and responsibilities Proficient knowledge of Engineering specifications and change orders Proficient in interpreting dimensions / tolerances and perform unit of measure conversions Demonstrates behaviors that are conducive to Garmin’s core values Must demonstrate the ability to remain highly motivated and work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision Desired Qualifications Familiarity with Optical Comparator and Vision systems Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
