Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Provide comprehensive support for all production CNC turning and milling activities.
• Perform setups and changeovers between various production parts
• Uploading and maintaining the latest CNC programs to the company server (location to be determined by the Engineering team), ensuring that the program database is current for all active production jobs. Folders to be classified per cell / job number, and all obsolete programs to be moved to the obsolete folder for reference.
• Actively implement and / or suggest improvement ideas to reduce cycle times, reduce perishable tooling cost and scrap rates; communicate these improvements across all shifts.
• Monitor tool wear, report when tools are not reaching the desired piece-per-edge standards and suggest increasing / reducing tool life if wear is not as expected.
• Write, implement and maintain lathe gantry programs
• Manage and maintain the CNC lathe tooling area, including ordering of spares as necessary
• Perform or assist in preventative maintenance and routine machine / tooling checks.
• Train other employees in all aspects of CNC turning and milling to enhance team capabilities and ensure consistent operational quality.
• Maintain all work holding including ordering of spares as necessary
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support production goals and maintain operational efficiency.

Qualifications / Experience / Education

Able to make program edits

Tool geometry and offsets

Ability to use indicator to check runout, initial setups

Ability to use hand gaging equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Depth Mic, Etc.)
