Overview Mobile Crisis On-Call Counselor (PRN as needed / on-call)

Location : Community-Based (within 1-hour physical response to assigned region) Department : Crisis Services Affiliate : UnityPoint Health – Eyerly Ball

UnityPoint Health is seeking compassionate and resilient individuals to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team. As a Mobile Crisis On-Call Counselor, you will provide on-site support and consultation to clients experiencing mental health crises in community or home settings. This role is vital in helping individuals achieve stability during critical moments.

Current openings & locations :

(1) Ames, IA - Weekends, flexible hours based on applicant's availability

Shifts : The shifts range from 7a-3p, 3p-11p and 11p-7a daily. On call pay is $3.25 to be available.

Responsibilities

Crisis Response (30%) : Deliver immediate intervention and support to clients in crisis at the location where the crisis is occurring

Documentation (30%) : Complete all required data entry and documentation in accordance with agency policy .

On-Call Availability (30%) : Be reachable by phone and ready to respond within a 1-hour radius, coordinating with your on-call partner

Compliance & Standards (10%) : Uphold UnityPoint Health values, maintain required certifications, and adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines

Qualifications Education :

Must meet one of the following :

Mental health professional as defined in Iowa Code section 228.1

Bachelor’s degree; or

Associate’s degree; or

High school diploma

Experience (based on education level noted above) :

Mental health professional : 1 year of mental health experience

Bachelor’s in human services : 1 year

Bachelor’s in non-human services : 2 years

Associate’s degree : 2 years

High school diploma : 2 years

Licenses / Certifications :

Valid driver’s license and compliance with Eyerly Ball’s auto insurance policy

Must pass criminal records and dependent adult / child abuse checks
