JOB SUMMARY

—Surgical Oncology

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides general and specialty medical and / or surgical services to individuals, families and groups, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. The APP will have an opportunity to practice autonomously and collaboratively within their established scope. All TGH team members are responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

— Surgical Oncology

• Assess and manage treatment for patients with a variety of surgical oncology conditions including clinic consultations for new patients and follow-up consultations.
• Pre & post operative evaluation of surgical oncology patients.
• Communicate with primary & multidisciplinary team to collaborate on the management of surgical oncology diagnoses.
• Request, interpret and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests and take appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols. Identify and report any specific signs and symptoms, problems or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication and / or intervention to promote positive outcomes.
• Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients' health care problems.
