- Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations.
- Develops and promotes a sales culture by creating individualized and complete solutions for every guest and providing outstanding guest service experiences through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that products are easy to see and buy, building sales by sharing product and gaming knowledge with guests, providing a clean, organized environment in which to shop, and growing guest loyalty and repeat business.
- This position supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.Process guest purchases / returns using the POS system accurately, including handling cash and providing receipts.Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.Promote GameStop\'s guest benefits, such as new title reservations, trade-ins, and Pro Rewards.Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates in company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.Monitor associate performance and provide feedback; ensure staff aligns with guest service expectations.Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback as required.Ensure onboarding and training of associates before opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethics.Schedule store associates to meet guest service goals; supervise staffing levels and ensure coverage for peak times.Approve payroll and manage paid time off and time edits as applicable.Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are functional.Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.Protect company assets with effective inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing as appropriate; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.Support team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.Perform inventory counts, stock restock, and ensure products are represented on the sales floor.Balance and reconcile daily transactions; prepare closeout paperwork and manage cash and bank deposits as directed.Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct counts and report discrepancies.Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists.Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines.Assist in maintaining store records and ensure manuals are up to date.Supervise and delegate tasks in absence of the Store Manager.Adhere to all company policies and procedures; follow opening and closing procedures.Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.Retail management experience preferred (6+ months).Retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred (2+ years).Video game knowledge preferred.Key Job Skills And Abilities
