This role is responsible for supporting overall business operations by ensuring facilities and manufacturing equipment are properly maintained, safe, and cost-effective. The Facilities Technician II oversees day-to-day facility functions across multiple onsite locations, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades. The position also contributes to environmental programs, safety initiatives, and compliance reporting while coordinating with internal teams and outside contractors as needed.
Maintain facilities, building systems, and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, alarms, fire sprinklers, forklifts, vehicles, and structures) at a fully operational level; ensure all planned maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
Perform preventive maintenance, installations, adjustments, and repairs on complex industrial production equipment and machinery (mechanical and electrical); troubleshoot and repair equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Repair, rebuild, or upgrade equipment and systems using appropriate tools and techniques while ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards.
Coordinate facility upkeep by working with outside contractors and applying general maintenance skills such as painting, woodworking, and plumbing; Manage environmental and safety programs, including hazardous material inventory and storage, recycling, E-waste diversion reporting, SDS updates, and waste management; Create and maintain department reporting matrices, complete work orders in the maintenance system, and provide timely communication to management regarding complex issues.
High School Diploma, G.or five (5) years’ work experience and two (2) years of related technical training program or military technical training.
Maintenance experience, including PLC troubleshooting, HVAC, and forklift certification.
Ability to commute between multiple job sites.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills; Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, manuals, and directions.
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their proper applications, with ability to use a calculator and work with decimals.
Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480v, 3-phase.
Working knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge and expertise in the use of manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other machine shop tools.
Electrical power knowledge, including wiring codes and systems, voltages AC / DC, and amperages; proper use of electrical test and diagnostic procedures.
Knowledge of building construction, maintenance, and related skills.
Manual dexterity — ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects and perform maintenance tasks.
Ability to stand / walk and perform physical labor for most of the working shift, including pulling, pushing, squatting, etc. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical applications.
