Responsibilities
The AVP of Business Development is responsible for planning and executing BPS’s marketing and sales strategy in the Program Administrator market.
Key functions include but are not limited to :
- Sets marketing and sales strategy that is aligned to the BPS corporate strategy; executed with a sense of urgency.
- Coordinate all aspects of the new business due diligence process, including : review and recommendations on new opportunities, manage Nondisclosure Agreement process, coordinate full due diligence, create and manage proposal and quote process.
- Update carrier competition database by program.
- Identify potential underwriting teams who possess deep expertise and a strong market following as potential hires for BPS.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to create, implement, and execute annual sales plan; including keeping a database of potential program partners, ranked according to potential fit with BPS risk appetite.
- Collaborate with underwriting leaders to develop effective value proposition for our business.
- Works with underwriting to develop proposals for new coverages or enhance our focus for existing coverages, such as Property and Professional initiatives, etc.
- Manage and execute PA prospecting; building trust and relationships will be critical to success.
- Work with Innovation and Product Development team to provide information to assist in the development of new insurance products by monitoring insurance and market trends, recommending changes or actions as warranted.
- Monitor sales results versus plan, including submission and call activity. Develop necessary analytics, reporting tools and report results quarterly.
- Coordinate industry conference attendance and meetings (such as Target Markets, WISA, .
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field required, MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of commercial Production Underwriting experience required
- Proven track record of sales leadership success
- Knowledge and relationships in the Program Administrator market space;
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, as well as, leadership capabilities, project management, collaboration and team building skills;
- Ability to develop and execute business strategies and value propositions.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information, data, and reports, required;
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time- this will vary quarter to quarter.
