Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity :

A world-renowned nonprofit arts institution, is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide interim coverage during a maternity leave. This 3-4 month project offers the chance to work with a highly respected organization in a mission-driven, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant :

  • Perform general ledger accounting and journal entries to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Complete reconciliations between Financial Edge and Razor's Edge systems, ensuring accuracy across fundraising and accounting records.
  • Manage bookstore inventory and sales reconciliations, including preparation and filing of sales tax returns.
  • Handle petty cash management and provide miscellaneous support to the finance team.

Qualifications of the Staff Accountant :

  • Strong general ledger accounting experience.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, index-match).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines in a monthly close cycle.
  • Preferred : Experience with Financial Edge and / or Razor's Edge, nonprofit accounting background
