REGIONAL SALES MANAGER
Scope of Position
Lead, direct, and manage a team of Business managers, within assigned Region, to achieve wholesale / retail sales objectives, increase market share, and protect company assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, guide, direct, and monitor assigned Business Managers (BM's) in all aspects of sales operations including, but not limited to, dealer development, dealer terminations, attainment of sales objectives, and sales and finance program promotions.
- Forecast, allocate, and distribute inventory to BM's to ensure dealers receive sufficient inventory to sell commensurate with product availability.
- Assist dealers through phone calls and emails, providing information and resolving issues, as required to maintain high levels of customer and dealer satisfaction.
- Visit key dealers with BM’s to increase Mahindra’s representation and build strong relationships with dealers.
- Monitor dealer activity and address low performing dealers by working to improve retail sales and market share or by terminating dealer contracts as necessary.
- Communicate market conditions and trends to corporate office, enabling strategy changes and / or the development of new programs, to keep the company in a competitive position.
- Provide input into setting department sales budget and manage resources within budget constraints.
- Manage BM's within assigned district including, but not limited to, recruiting, motivating, distributing and reviewing work, and managing performance.
- Special project may include attending, participating, and / or planning trade shows, dealer, and / or regional meetings.
- Orients and mentors’ new staff, provides ongoing training of staff and schedules regular meetings to ensure good communication is maintained in the work group.
- Monitors individual performance and prepares annual performance review.
- Encourages subordinates to share ideas and concerns and responds quickly and positively to their questions and concerns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or other related field and 5 to 8 years related experience.Ability to effectively lead and motivate team to achieve assigned goals.Excellent customer relation skills.Fundamental business skills including accounting, distribution / logistics, and sales and marketing techniques.Proficiency using a Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP, and the ability to learn and use other software applications.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Effective sales and negotiation skills.The position will require walking, standing and sitting at a computer. Office equipment including computer, copier, fax, phone, printerPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : The position will require walking, driving, standing and sitting at a computer.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : Travel required.
