Overview We are seeking a Technical Designer – Sweaters to join a Washington, DC–based design team. This full-time role is dedicated to translating seasonal sweater concepts into production-ready garments that deliver flawless fit, premium quality, and brand standards.

Details Role : Technical Designer – Sweaters

Location : Washington, DC (Onsite, 5 days / week)

Schedule : Monday–Friday

Travel : Occasional

Key Responsibilities Interpret sweater design concepts into technical specifications and production-ready specs

Lead sweater fit sessions, measure samples, and issue detailed fit comments and revisions

Maintain sweater tech packs, stitch / gauge details, specs, and graded measurements

Collaborate with vendors / factories to troubleshoot knit issues and ensure fit consistency

Integrate wear test results to improve comfort, performance, and durability

Track, log, and organize incoming fit samples to prepare for fittings and seasonal development

Support additional RTW categories as needed under direction of Senior Technical Designer

Qualifications 5+ years of technical design experience with a strong focus on sweaters / knitwear

Advanced knowledge of knitwear construction, stitch types, yarn behavior, and knitting machinery

Strong understanding of patternmaking, grading, and fit specific to knitwear

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM systems, and flat sketching

Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and time management across multiple timelines

Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor management
