Histology Technician - Dermatopathology

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, FTE 1.0, position. 1pm-9pm Monday - Friday, no weekends or on-call. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Pay :

External hires may be eligible for up to a $4000.00 sign on bonus.

Play an integral role in a patient’s diagnosis at UW Health. You’ll help bridge the gap between a tissue sample being taken and a diagnosis being made by a pathologist.

We are seeking a Histo Technician (HT or HTL) - Dermatopathology / Mohs to :

• Prepare microscope slides that will assist pathologists in making a diagnosis.
• Perform basic and complex testing.
• Perform some advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
• Coordinate and prioritize workflow to ensure timely testing.

Education :

Minimum Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include :

Education : 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science

Work Experience :

Preferred Previous laboratory experience

Licenses and Certifications :

Minimum

Preferred Histotechnician / Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent
