Automation Project Manager
DeBra-Kuempel Inc. is looking to fill the Automation Project Manager role. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for a project team, as well as being a stakeholder in the projects assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Attend job turnovers with sales / engineering
- Review overall project schedule and generate controls project schedule
- Review engineering submittals
- Attend job meetings and update project team with control tasks, two-week look ahead, milestones, trade coordination needs, punch list, manpower, safety, etc.
- Coordinate engineering / installation commitment dates with controls team
- Review manpower projections with department manager
- Schedule EL / CL to meet the project milestone dates
- Review labor ratios and rates on prevailing wage projects prior to time being entered
- Procure materials and negotiate savings through bulk purchase
- Generate sub-contract SPOs as required
- Coordinate material storage / lift / tools / other project needs
- Act as primary point of contact for project team
- Provide percent complete for each schedule of values line item for monthly billing
- Review all bulletins and field work orders for applicable controls scope changes and report to sales / estimator
- Review EL / CL performance versus estimate and report deviation and corrective action to department manager at 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% minimum
- Review EM / CM orders versus estimate and report deviation to department manager
- Complete job safety assessment monthly
- Ensure that MSDS, company safety policy, toolbox talks, and other safety documents meet project / company requirements
- Ensure that field installation changes are documented on red line drawings and provide markups to engineering for as-builts
- Ensure that startup / checkout / system operation / graphics are completed to company standards
- Schedule owner training
- Deliver closeout documents and O&M manuals
- Maintain customer relations to ensure satisfaction
- Review final project cost and team performance with department manager
- Evaluate project efficiency and recommend improvements
Qualifications :
Working knowledge of Procore / Trueline reportsExcellent customer relations skillsExcellent communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic)Excellent relationship building skillsGeneral sales experience preferredEstimating experience is preferredComputer skills required (MS Project or equal)Scheduling experience required (MS Project, reverse scheduling, manpower loading, etc)Must be self-motivated, goal & results oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentMust have high standards of quality with attention to detailMust be efficient at scheduling and meeting commitments for multiple customersJob duties will be primarily limited to the Greater Columbus area; however, out of town travel may be requiredPreferred Education and / or Experience :
Construction Management degree or Project Management Certification preferredIn lieu of above-mentioned degrees, equivalent industry experience may be consideredComputer Skills :
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word, and Excel)MS Project experience requiredRequired Attributes :
