Overview
Technology & Operations Risk Strategy and Governance Liaison - Birmingham or Atlanta
Responsibilities
- Serves as the connection point between business units and Risk Management by fostering partnerships and collaborating as a liaison with other business and functional areas
- Provides risk management consultation for risk identification, defines remediation efforts, and evaluates control design and effectiveness for problem / issue mitigation
- Utilizes knowledge of different risk types to identify risks affected by changes internally and externally (e.g. new or retiring offerings, policies and regulations)
- Identifies Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate performance against desired state
- Escalates and supports risk assessments with cross-functional teams to ensure program effectiveness and scalability, presenting leadership with recommendations to resolve gaps
- Develops holistic, customer-focused improvement approaches across the Bank
- Identifies and prioritizes new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate risk, close control gaps, and improve financial return or customer impact
- Continuously monitors control compliance and the prevailing risk environment to keep exposures at acceptable levels
- Assists in developing metrics, models, and tools to analyze risk loss estimates and other capital planning documentation
- May design, develop, and implement independent reporting and / or financial analysis to support oversight, and deliver executive-level presentations
- May assist in creating documentation for external parties such as regulators and auditors
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industryOr Bachelor's Degree and five (5) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industryPreferences
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management practices and toolsGovernance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) experience (RSA Archer platform)Relative certifications applicable to risk management (e.g. CPA, CIA, CRCM, CAMS, CRMP, CRM, CPMP)Six Sigma certificationsSkills And Competencies

The Technology, Operations, Digital and Data (TODD) Risk Strategy & Governance Liaison role supports the design, communication, implementation, and execution of the TODD Risk strategy and governance oversightContributes to design and documentation of programmatic expectations for risk reporting and communicationDesigns and documents enhancements of TODD Risk's strategy and execution, including program documents and proceduresContributes to governance reporting materials for committees, executives, and regulatory needsExecutes risk assessments, quality assurance reviews, root cause analysis, and other risk reporting and artifactsIdentifies and monitors emerging TODD risks and provides regulatory exam and audit supportCollaborates with TODD teams and other stakeholders on risk programs for reporting and communicationPerforms outreach, escalation, and consultation on risk program adherenceSolves standard-complex problems and analyzes potential solutions with available toolsDelivers on multiple initiatives while meeting deadlines; may deliver informal trainingMay contribute to project plans, timelines, milestones, and provide guidance to junior analystsObtains and maintains necessary training to stay current on Risk ManagementUtilizes data visualization tools to design or contribute to reporting efficienciesLocation & Work Arrangement
This position is intended to be onsite, with regular in-office days; Regions will not provide relocation assistance. Primary locations are Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA. Exceptions may be made for Regions associates who work remotely.
