A growing international manufacturing company is opening a new U.S. facility in Winston-Salem and is seeking a Plant Manager / General Manager to lead the site startup and oversee all operations.
This is an exciting opportunity to be the first hire and play a key role in launching and scaling a state-of-the-art production facility.
About the Role
The Plant Manager will be responsible for all on-site operations including production, health and safety, maintenance, quality, and team development. This hands-on leader will build and manage the local team, coordinate contractors and service providers, and ensure smooth daily operations while aligning with global leadership on standards, compliance, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and ensure production, safety, and service standards are consistently met.
- Recruit, train, and manage a multidisciplinary site team.
- Lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
- Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer needs.
- Oversee maintenance, utilities, and facility upkeep.
- Manage suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Implement and validate new equipment, systems, and processes.
- Drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and accountability across departments.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).Proven experience managing plant or site operations within manufacturing.Chemical or process manufacturing experience preferred.Strong EHS knowledge and understanding of OSHA / EPA requirements.Demonstrated success leading teams and managing multiple operational functions.Hands-on, self-sufficient leader comfortable in a start-up or growth-stage environment.What’s Offered
