Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking Experienced Production Test Electrical + Test Heavy Assemblers (Level B or Level C) to assist with multiple areas of the 787 production system in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift!

This role offers an exciting opportunity within a dynamic manufacturing assembly environment. Team members will leverage their prior experience, and the knowledge gained from training and certifications to complete daily assigned tasks effectively.

Individuals will be responsible for identifying their work locations on advanced airplanes, parts, and tooling by interpreting intricate drawings to accurately complete detailed work instructions. Attention to detail and procedure compliance is critical to identify all necessary hand tools, parts, and equipment required to ensure defect-free work. Primary Responsibilities :

Must have the ability to complete the New Hire Training Cycle Flow to obtain and maintain all required certifications.

Ability to adhere to high standards of safety and quality.

Comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

Ensure your work conforms to engineering drawings and specifications, has First Pass Quality (FPQ) and is free from Foreign Object Debris.

Use computers and software applications in a production environment.

Look up / read / comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and / or specifications.

Wear appropriate protective clothing / equipment determined by the task you are performing.

Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. ladders, tiger and aerial lifts).

Use various hand tools.

Climbing / balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting),

Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards / shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.

Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).

Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents.

Carrying / Lifting up to 10-35 pounds

Flexion / Extension (head bent down, head bent back), Handling, Kneeling, Bending at the waist, Reaching (overhead), Rotation of head / neck, Standing, Twisting at the waist and walking.

Perform functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components as well as perform aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair.

Assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.

Perform complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

Identify roadblocks and production constraints escalating issues which cannot be resolved by the team using open and clear communication.

Support teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross training and mentoring.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC (BSC).

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Aerospace Technician and Mechanic Aptitude Virtual Job Tryout :  To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. You will receive an email invitation at the address you provided in your application. From the date of the invitation, you will have 5 days to complete the assessment. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

Ability to work a variable shift.

Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as : flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head / neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing / balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).

Ability to carry / lift up to 10-35 pounds.

Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.

1+ years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and / or other specialized computer applications.

1+ years of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.

1+ years of experience in electrical assembly and / or electronic materials.

1+ years of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

3+ years of experience with functional testing of aircraft electrical systems.

3+ years of experience with functional testing of IFE systems knowledge.

3+ years of experience with aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair experience.

1+ years of experience with 787 Program Experience.

Shift :

This position is for a variable shift (shift 4).  Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation is needed.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range level B : $54,000 - $64,000

Summary pay range level C : $61,200 - $64,500
