JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our Materials Management Department as a Distribution Tech. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure efficient stocking, replenishment, and organization of supplies and materials throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects, and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.

• Main Tasks :
• Performs logistics functions, including replenishment of assigned nursing units and patient care areas.
• Stocks unit supply and equipment storage areas and medication rooms daily, maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Inspects and cleans equipment per department and hospital guidelines, including use of iPhone and Filemaker applications.
• Checks for expiration dates on supplies and equipment; removes affected products as needed.
• Assists vendor truck drivers with loading and unloading supply carts.
• Provides feedback to Inventory Specialist regarding par level adjustments, removal, or addition of supplies via email.
• Performs cart maintenance, including relabeling and reorganizing carts.
• Completes required documentation such as assignment sheets, checklists, requisitions, and maintenance requests.
• Provides customer service support regarding product location, delivery, and returns.
• Performs product conversions, recalls, and additions as directed.
• Reports discrepancies or issues to Leadership, such as stock outs or backorders.
• Maintains cleanliness and compliance of the office, hallways, and dock areas.
• Uses proper body mechanics when moving carts; reports broken carts for repair.
• Follows hospital, JCAHO, and DPH guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for receipt and delivery of bulk medications to pharmacy or nursing units.
• Accesses medication / supply rooms for duties like replenishing linen carts or stocking supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Standing and walking most of an 8-10 hour shift. Lifting up to 40 lbs. under safe conditions. Pushing / pulling forces : 33 lbs. initial, 13 lbs. sustained.
