Job Description

The Associate Accountant is a key member of our team responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of Teach Me accounting. Daily duties include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports, and running accounting software programs to process business transactions, such as accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts. Ultimately, a successful Associate Accountant will ensure that the company's daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Role Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices, including matching invoices to purchase orders, obtaining approvals, and entering data into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process accounts receivable invoices, ensuring accurate billing and timely collection of payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both physical and electronic.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and file various financial reports.
  • Maintain accuracy in transactions, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
  • Provide assistance and support to company leadership and personnel
  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation discrepancies
  • Inform management and compile reports / summaries on activity areas
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable law.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Internship / work experience is a plus
  • Utilize critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Proactively seek ways to help our customers and colleagues.
