Treating Plant Manager
Allweather Wood Company, LLC is seeking an experienced Treating Plant Manager based in Loveland, CO.
This is an exempt position, the base salary for this position is $100,000.00 to $125,000.00. Your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic locations, skills, education and / or experience. Please keep in mind that the range published is the full base salary. We also offer a generous benefits package : Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K match and company paid life insurance.
Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants, and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.
Responsibilities
The Manager, Treating Plant is responsible to manage all aspects of Treating Plant Operations to ensure the plant is ran in a safe, effective, and productive manner, while meeting the quality and delivery requirements of our customers.

- Plant operation supervision including but not limited to lumber storage and handling; inventory rotation; truck loading and unloading; special order fulfillment; plant maintenance; product packaging, and traffic.
- Manage and facilitate open communication between treating operations, transportation and purchasing departments to address and quickly respond to inventory issues, quality expectations and specific customer requests.
- Manage inventory levels for treated product. Participate in physical inventory counts throughout the year to maintain accurate inventory.
- Plan and direct production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Understand production flow and work with site supervisors to achieve production expectations.
- Manage and understand pressure treatment process. Ability to fill in as needed and make corrective action plans to prevent and address non-conformance.
- Manage and regularly audit QC process and lab equipment to confirm AWPA standards are met economically, without over treatment.
- Analyze and review production data across entire business unit to reduce inefficiencies and waste
- Maintain all company / state / federal required treating and environmental records to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Work with EHS staff to ensure all employees are trained, have all required PPE to perform assigned job duties.
- Manage process of maintaining required programs with EHS team for; stormwater, environmental, site safety and LOTO. Provide necessary records and manifests needed for required annual reporting.
- Directly supervise business unit employees in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
- Develop team through hiring, coaching and ongoing performance evaluation, resolving personnel-related issues and disciplinary actions as required.
- Accurately and timely communicate Company priorities, goals, and policies in these areas including but not limited to safety, environmental health, quality, productivity, and human resources.
- Develop a culture within the business unit to foster teamwork, initiating plans to motivate employees to achieve higher performance.
- Review, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and quality of product (continued improvement).
- Establish PM program with Maintenance department, stocking an inventory of critical spares, and having a knowledge of each department equipment and functionality.
- Assist in creating and distributing financial analysis, business plans, budgets, forecasts, and expectations, monthly and / or annually as required.
- Analyze the financial impact of the day-to-day operations
- Establish and monitor performance metrics and adjust planning and production schedules to achieve desired results.
- Knowledge and ability to operate forklift or plant equipment, as necessary to assist plant personnel.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university, preferred; 7 + years of progressive experience and / or training; or the equivalent combination of education including leadership of other personnelManagement experience in pressure treating facility preferredAdvanced skill levels with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Database software / AccessTravel requirements of a local nature (within 100 miles) usually by car up to 10% of the timeMust be able to operate an automobile / truck.
