PositionSummary

NewRiverElectricalislookingforaqualifiedTaxAccountantwithadesiretoworkintheconstructionindustry.

TheTaxAccountantsupportstheaccountingfunctionandtheirprojects.TheTaxAccountantisconsideredthesubjectmatterexpertandisprimarilyresponsibleforanalyzingfinancialtaxinformation,providingtaxstrategyandcounsel,andpreparetaxrelatedfinancialreports.Thisrolewillhandle taxpreparation,taxplanningandcompliance. TheTaxAccountantwillhandlefederal,state,andlocalpayrolltaxreturns,taxaccountprovisioningandtaxresearchprojects,includingworkingcloselywithourfinancefunctionsandexternaladvisers.Thisisafull-timepositionandreportstoSeniorAccountantII.

Duties / Responsibilities

Ownershipforaccurateandtimelypreparedconsolidatedfederal,state,andlocalpayrolltaxreturns,extensions,payments / estimates / forecastsandsupportingdocumentationacrossourUSbusiness.

Respondtofederal,state,andlocaltaxnoticesandmanagingfederal,state,andlocaltaxauditsandexaminations.
Performingtaxresearch,consulting,andothertaxprojectstosupportourbusiness.
Supportsystemsandprocessimprovementprojectstogainefficienciesinourtaxfunction.
Keepinguptodatewithlegislativedevelopmentsandensuringimplicationsofchangesareaddressedappropriately.
Prepareannualbusinesslicenseapplications,personalpropertytaxreturns,multi-statesales / usetaxreturns,payrolltaxdepositsandquarterlyandannualfilings.
Compilesinformation,completesapplications,andoverseesrenewalrequirementsforvariousstatelicensures.
Preparemonthlyandquarterlyreconciliationsandassistwithmonth-endcloseprocedures.
Assistwithyear-endaccountingprocessesandprepareW-2filings.
EnsurecompliancewithGAAPprinciples.
Developanddocumentbusinessprocessestostrengthenandmaintaininternalcontrols.
Maintainelectronicfilingsystems.

Qualifications

Bachelorsdegreeinaccounting,finance,orarelatedfieldplus2-4yearsofexperienceintaxaccounting,CPAlicenseastrongplus.

Experienceinconstructionorutilityindustryisaplus.

Strongknowledgeofgeneralfinancialtaxaccountingandfinancialreporting.

Skillsinthereconciliationoffinancialaccounts.

ProficientinMicrosoftOfficeSuite(Excelskillsrequired).

Meticulousattentiontodetailtoensureaccuracyandqualityoffinancials.

Demonstratedcriticalthinkingtomitigateriskandsolvecomplexproblems.

Timemanagementandorganizationskillsrequiredtomeetdeadlines.

Detail-orientedself-starterwiththeabilitytoworkindependentlytomeetdeadlines.

Teamplayerandabilitytocollaboratewithotherdepartments.

Abilitytomeetaconstantstreamofdeadlinesandmoveswithasenseofurgency.

Strongcommunicationskills,bothwrittenandverbal.

Mustbeabletoworkbothindependentlyandaspartofateam.

Provenabilitytomaintainconfidentialandsensitiveinformation.
