Job Title : Project Manager
Administration and supervision of design, vertical and horizontal construction projects. Project management from early conceptual stages through construction final for numerous and diverse County projects with various department specialties. Project Manager may be requested to assist other departments such as Engineering, Storm water, Road and Bridge, Traffic Engineering and construction, depending on the need, background, and experience of the candidate. Provides comprehensive CPM scheduling / tracking as well as up to date reporting on all aspects of each assigned project. Performs highly technical, administrative and project management functions.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
Experience : Four (4) years' experience in fields related to project management, scheduling, budgeting, contract administration; or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience in vertical and horizontal construction.
Preferred : Facilities Management / Maintenance experience.
Miscellaneous : Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
Knowledge of maintaining records according to industry standards for all projects. Records shall generally include but not be limited to all correspondence, contract documents, change orders, RFIs, photographs, etc.
Knowledge of keeping logs, recording the activities related to the project, weather conditions, nature and location of work being performed, verbal instructions and interpretations given to the designer and Contractor, specific observations, any occurrence or work that might result in a claim for a change in Contract Sum or Contract duration.
Knowledge of all phases of design and construction. Requires working knowledge of County and State laws, Building Codes and Ordinances, FDOT Specification, MUTCD, etc.
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering as applied to the requirements of a Public Works Facilities Management Department, which manages several building projects.
Ability to evaluate and analyze data and make recommendations based on sound judgment.
Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with subordinates, other departments, outside agencies - public or private, and the general public.
Ability to evaluate information, make decisions and coordinate consultants efficiently.
Thorough knowledge of maintaining records, in an orderly manner, at the construction site and office, e.g., correspondence, contract documents, change orders.
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet established deadlines, and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction.
Ability to perform routine to moderately complex mathematical computations and tabulations accurately and efficiently.
Ability to operate basic office equipment.
Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications.

At no cost to the employee. The County offers Short-Term and Long-Term Disability at 60% of the employee's weekly base salary. The employee has the option to purchase an additional 10% coverage.

The Employee Health Center offers an array of primary care services, including sick visits, enhanced by x-ray services, pulmonary tests, lab work, and a dispensary offering over 200 generic medications onsite. Services at the Health Center are offered at no cost to the employees and their eligible dependents.
Employees who are enrolled on the County's Medical plan have access to the Employee Health Center on day one of employment. The Health Center is available to patients 8 years of age and older
