ROLE of the POSITION
The Behavioral Health Provider (BHP) delivers a variety of brief clinical mental health care interventions on site in the UNLV Student Health Center (SHC). The SHC is a AAAHC accredited clinic within the Student Wellness Unit, which includes the Student Counseling and Psychological Services, Care Center, Wellness Promotion, Disability Resource Center, Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, and Military and Veterans Services Center. This Behavioral Health Provider/Senior Behavioral Health Provider role offers a unique opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, integrated service model dedicated to serving a diverse student population. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
General responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to receiving warm hand-offs from medical providers, triaging students presenting with mental health concerns, conducting initial clinical assessments, administering brief evidence-based interventions, providing acute crisis assessments and interventions, when necessary, which may include voluntary and involuntary hospitalizations, and providing treatment recommendations and referrals when indicated. The BHP also facilitates psychoeducational groups and workshops appropriate to the primary care setting to address student behavioral health needs identified within the SHC. The BHP works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of medical and mental health providers and provides substantive contributions to patient/client care and the medical team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Behavioral Health Provider: This position requires a LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, or related master’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and one year of related professional experience providing mental health services. Nevada licensure for independent practice is required prior to the start of employment.
Senior Behavioral Health Provider: This position requires a LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, or related master’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and five years of related professional experience at the master’s level of independent practice providing mental health services. Nevada licensure for independent practice is required prior to the start of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience providing mental health services within a medical setting.
All candidates must pass a background screening.

SALARY
Behavioral Health Provider salary range is $76,649 - $84,518. Unable to offer more than stated salary range.
Senior Behavioral Health Provider salary range is $87,801 - $93,637. Unable to offer more than stated salary range.
