The Role

We are seeking a Sushi Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Japanese culinary techniques, particularly sushi preparation, knife skills, and ingredient sourcing. This individual will contribute to crafting an exceptional dining experience by assisting in the preparation and presentation of a limited menu, showcasing traditional Japanese cuisine with a modern twist.

• Menu Execution : Assist in preparing and executing a variety of sushi offerings, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
• Ingredient Sourcing : Help source the finest local and seasonal ingredients in collaboration with senior culinary staff to ensure the highest quality.
• Sushi Preparation : Demonstrate proficiency in traditional Japanese sushi techniques, maintaining high standards for taste and presentation.
• Visual Presentation : Exhibit attention to detail to ensure each dish is visually appealing and reflects the precision of Japanese cuisine.
• Sanitation and Efficiency : Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
• Collaboration : Work closely with the culinary team to support consistency and quality across all dishes, contributing ideas and techniques to enhance the sushi program.
• Cultural Values : Uphold the Living Room's values of being human, empathetic, and soulful in interactions with guests and colleagues.
• Training Support : Assist in training other cooks in traditional Japanese preparation techniques, including rice preparation and knife skills.
