Summary
- The Media Process Technician I works as part of a collaborative team responsible for manufacturing dehydrated and liquid cell culture media.
- This role involves accurately following batch record instructions, weighing raw materials (ranging from micrograms to kilograms), calibrating equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and performing various manufacturing operations such as milling, blending, and sterile filtration.
- The technician will also conduct standard product testing (e.g., osmolality, pH, and turbidity) and collaborate closely with internal teams including R&D, Procurement, Quality, Process Technology, Marketing, and external vendors and customers to ensure the production of high-quality media products.
Responsibilities
Stage and compound raw materials within specified weight tolerances (micrograms to kilograms).Perform milling, blending, aseptic liquid filling, process control monitoring, and documentation in compliance with GMP and departmental procedures.Complete all required production documentation neatly, accurately, and according to GMP standards.Perform cleaning, inspection, calibration, and assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.Handle raw materials in accordance with GMP and safety requirements.Operate laboratory and production instruments such as pipettors, balances, osmometers, turbidimeters, and pH meters.Ensure that all work is performed safely, promoting an injury- and incident-free environment.Support team performance through effective communication and collaboration.Maintain attention to detail and follow assigned responsibilities under supervision.Work overtime as required to meet production demands.Perform other duties as assigned to support overall business objectives.Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 6 months in a high-paced laboratory or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.Familiarity with cell culture media production or related chemical formulation processes.Experience performing or interpreting statistical analysis using Excel or Minitab.Demonstrated initiative in maintaining equipment and contributing to process improvements.Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Ability to read, write, and follow testing and inspection procedures.Competence in weighing multiple components accurately.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and standard equipment.Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.Flexibility to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs.TekWissen Group is an equal opportunity employer supporting workforce diversity.
