Government Contracts Manager
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Government Contracts Manager to lead the full lifecycle of federal contracts. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance, negotiating terms, supporting proposals, and mitigating risk across a variety of contract types. As the sole contracts professional on the team, you must be comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while laying the foundation for scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities of the Government Contracts Manager :
- Manage government contracts and subcontracts across various types : FFP, CPFF, T&M, OTA, IDIQ, SBIR, etc.
- Support NDAs, Teaming Agreements, MOUs, and RFP issuance.
- Lead proposal development including scopes, cost models, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate contract terms and modifications while ensuring FAR / DFARS compliance.
- Maintain complete audit files and documentation for all contracts.
- Provide contract summaries, risk assessments, and briefings to internal stakeholders.
- Lead contract close-out activities and support subcontractor performance.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and program teams to ensure alignment and mitigate risk.
Required Qualifications of the Government Contracts Manager :
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in government contract management.Demonstrated expertise in FAR / DFARS and managing diverse contract types.Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.NCMA certifications (CFCM, CPCM, CCCM).Experience with OTAs, ITAR, Title 50, or export controls.Security clearance (or ability to obtain one).Graduate degree in a relevant field.Compensation for the Government Contracts Manager includes :
Salary Range : $145,000-165,000 depending on experience.
