The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Information Technology Specialist. The pay range for this position is $64,340.11 / yr - $94,061.71 / yr.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, assists in at least one of the following areas : design and preparation of operation routines and computer programs, control and implementation of operating systems, development and maintenance of Local Area Networks (LAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN), and technical support functions.

Position 1 :

Administer and support DEP's mission-critical IT infrastructure, systems, and services. Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, Windows OS, Microsoft 365 suite, DNS, DHCP, and TCP / IP network services.

Position 2 :

Serve as the primary Database Administrator (DBA) for assigned database systems and backup DBA for systems covered by other DBA staff. Manage Linux OS, patching levels, and resource allocation for database servers.

Preferred Skillset

• Proven experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration, Windows Server, and Linux server administration
• Familiarity with SCCM, MS Intune, PowerShell scripting, and SharePoint
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL / MariaDB, and Structured Query Language (SQL)

Requirements

EDUCATION : Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree in Computer Science or Computer / Information Technology.

EXPERIENCE : One year of experience in at least one of the following areas : design and preparation of programs, modification of systems software, technical support functions, or development and maintenance of LAN, MAN, and WAN environments.

License

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if necessary to perform essential duties.
