Senior Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Maine. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices and a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Maintain and update the general ledger while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to align financial records with bank statements.
• Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
• Utilize cloud-based ERP systems to manage financial operations efficiently.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
