Job description3+ years in Controls / Automation Engineering Bachelor’s in Electrical, Controls, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) PLC programming (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell) HMI development Motion / servo systems experience Electrical schematic design (AutoCAD Electrical or similar) Industrial controls knowledge (sensors, pneumatics, VFDs, control panels) Strong troubleshooting in field and remote environments Ability to travel up to 50% Thermoforming or plastics machinery experience Robotics or material handling integration VFDs, PID, EtherNet / IP, Modbus UL panel design or CE standards Salary : $80K – $90K (open to $100K–$110K for advanced experience) Schedule : 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM Travel : Up to 50%, overnight as needed

Controls Engineer (Industrial Automation)
A well-established, low-turnover industrial machinery manufacturer is hiring a Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of automated control systems. This role works on custom machinery with room for ownership, growth, and real technical impact within a team-driven culture.
What You’ll Do
- Design electrical control systems, schematics, and BOMs
- Program and debug PLCs (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell preferred), HMIs, and motion / servo controls
- Integrate sensors, pneumatics, and automation hardware
- Support machine installs, startup, and troubleshooting on-site and remotely
- Partner with mechanical engineering for full system integration
- Train and mentor service technicians
- Travel up to 50% overnight for customer support and commissioning
