Director - Innovation

PRIMARY PURPOSE :

To provide leadership for the district in the areas of instructional technology, researching and implementing innovative programs, and evaluating technology solutions across the district.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education / Certification :

Master's degree

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS :

• Exhibit excellent communication (verbal and written), public relation, and interpersonal skills.
• Understand the role of technology / innovation in education
• Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Have a proven track record of working collaboratively with multiple departments and diverse constituencies
• Have an in-depth understanding of district policies, regulations, and procedures
• Display the ability to develop / deliver effective professional learning programs
• Demonstrate communication, public relation and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate ability to create and develop innovative approaches to instruction
• Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and leadership skills
• Possess understanding of the change process, organization development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills
• Ability to analyze and interpret data to evaluate program effectiveness
• Understand and implement policies and procedures of the MISD
• Prior experience in coaching and supervising others

EXPERIENCE :

Three (3) successful years experience in public school administration and supervision

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

• Provide leadership and supervisory responsibilities to the instructional technology team
• Provide support to campus administration, classroom teachers and students in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of AYO
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Coordinator of Innovation
• Instructional Technology Coaches

WORKING CONDITIONS : Mental Demands :

Managing simultaneously occurring projects, communicating effectively with all publics, and making effective decisions while maintaining emotional control.

Physical demands / environmental factors :

• Traveling within and outside of the district.
• Prolonged and irregular hours.
