Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and assist in the preparation and execution of exceptional dishes.
You will be responsible for supervising the kitchen staff and ensuring all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
- Lead and coordinate the kitchen team in food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards
- Maintain inventory levels and ensure proper storage of all ingredients and food supplies
- Monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation regulations and practices
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create and update menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Assist with the ordering of supplies and managing the kitchen budget
- Handle any kitchen-related issues or emergencies that may arise and find quick and effective solutions
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of food, service, and overall dining experience
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional dishes
- Ability to work well in a team and delegate tasks effectively
- Creativity and the ability to come up with new and innovative culinary ideas
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
