What you will do
Under minimal supervision, the HVAC Controls (DDC) Service Technician conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and general servicing of control systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems).
Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. With a high level of complete technical competence, mentors control technicians, service technician and mechanical technicians on building automation activities.
Properly completes required project and service documentation.
How you will do it
Perform HVAC DDC (Direct Digital Controls) systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning and preventative maintenance as it is related to mechanical, electrical and low voltage controls components.
Respond to control systems service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools as well as a variety of hand tools including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment.
Provide front line controls technical and repair support through effective communications with Johnson Controls customers.
Provide controls system repair and or update recommendations and assist in proposing of recommendations to Johnson Controls customers.
Load Johnson Controls field and network level controller software.
Perform system commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers as well as end devices (i.e. Sensors, actuators, etc.
and complete all required commissioning documentation.
Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
Calibrate control systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
Document changes and provides information for as-built documentation.
Execute company sponsored as well as personally initiated training to ensure the highest level of knowledge and capability are maintained.
Engage with customers to fully understand their systems and needs.
Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
What we look for
Required :
High school diploma or equivalent.
General understanding of and interest in HVAC systems, control sequence and applications.
General understanding and interest in mechanical and electromechanical fields.
General aptitude for grasping computer and networking concepts.
Interest in HVAC controls systems.
Interest in computers, networks and troubleshooting.
Ability to use hand and power tools as well as electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter.
Solid knowledge base in use of personal computers.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Attention to detail.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Preferred :
Some college or trade school.
Experience with general programming concepts or network architecture setup.
Experience with HVAC equipment systems.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE : $35-$45 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
