Miriam School Teacher Assistant - Webster Groves Campus K - 8
TITLE OF POSITION : Teacher Assistant
STATUS : Full time, non-exempt
QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience working with students with learning challenges preferred
REPORTS TO : Head of School K-8
HOURS OF WORK : Monday-Friday 9 : 30AM-5 : 30PM according to the school calendar
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides supervision to students who attend the afternoon extended day program
- Assists the teachers with providing each learner with programs that will enable them to reach their fullest potential
- Becomes familiar with the teachers' procedures, schedules of activities, the continuity of academic progression and available materials and equipment
- Observes, records and follows established behavior management plans
- Performs teacher assigned clerical responsibilities
- Becomes acquainted with and adheres to the Miriam's Personnel Policies Handbook
- Serves as a substitute in teachers' absences, implementing previously prepared lesson plans
- Participates in workshops, in-service training and conferences when approved by administration
- Assists teachers in :
- Maintaining organization of materials and equipment
- Managing pupils throughout the building and grounds
- Preparation of materials
- Implementation of lessons
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students
- Performs all other responsibilities as assigned
