About the Role
The Head of IT oversees all aspects of IT operations—from infrastructure and systems to user support and access management—ensuring security is the backbone and the technology is secure, efficient, and scalable. With responsibility for IT Help Desk, endpoints, and risk management, this position leads continuous improvement across IT, Security, and Risk programs to support the company's products, people, and processes. By analyzing system performance and identifying opportunities for optimization, this role strengthens our ability to deliver reliable, innovative energy storage and management solutions in alignment with our mission.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the deployment, integration, and management of business software systems, ensuring scalability, compliance, and security best practices.
- Implement and manage endpoint security measures to safeguard organizational devices and user access.
- Develop and enforce policies for physical security across offices, data centers, and IT infrastructure. Continuously review and revise security policies to minimize potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Lead incident management processes, including detection, response, resolution, and post-incident review to minimize operational risks.
- Design, implement, and maintain network security protocols to ensure resilience against internal and external threats.
- Establish and guide Security Operations (SecOps) practices, integrating monitoring, threat intelligence, and risk mitigation into IT operations.
- Collaborate with facilities and leadership to design and oversee building architecture and security systems, ensuring both digital and physical safeguards are aligned.
- Collaborate and engage with senior leaders, technical, and non-technical teams on strategy, safety, regulatory, and compliance standards.
- Develop enterprise-wide technical perspectives, standards, solutions, and strategies that resolve significant security friction points.
- Analyze technology, industry, and market trends and determine potential impacts to and opportunities for the enterprise.
- Develop a vision, strategy, and a roadmap, and lead the business in effective execution.
- Ensure that the organization has strong systems analysis and project management skills, and the ability to execute business-critical projects.
- Build strong relationships with business groups and their leaders across the enterprise, and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges and opportunities.
- Establish a comprehensive enterprise information security risk-based program to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of relevant data and assets.
- Partner with business stakeholders to raise awareness of risk management concerns.
- Partner with business leadership and technology teams to remediate security flaws in infrastructure, system design and application security.

Required Experience
8+ years of comprehensive IT experience, preferably including 3+ years in strategic leadership roles, driving innovation, team performance, and technology alignment with business goals.5+ years of experience working in an Operational Risk, Technology Risk, IT Audit, Operational Control, Information Security or related field.A passion for building scalable, reliable, and secure solutions that help solve renewable energy problems.Proven experience researching and implementing compliance frameworks such as : CMMC, ISO 27001, GDPR, UL, NFPA, NERC CIP, CSC, and NIST.Experience organizing and leading diverse councils to successfully lower risk and achieve industry certifications.Ability to motivate cross functional teams to achieve strategic and tactical objectives.A demonstrated ability at balancing prudent risk management with commercial outcomes.Preferred Experience

Location The role is hybrid remote based in our South Salt Lake Headquarters Warehouse (air-conditioned) and some remote work. May require occasional onsite work in Springville R&D warehouse (air-conditioned and non air-conditioned).
Schedule Full-Time, Salaried
Compensation $130,000 - 150,000 (Note : We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)

Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.Ability to communicate information so others can understand.
