We’re looking for a General Manager who sets the tone in the café and brings energy into everything they do. This role is responsible for the overall profitability of the store while creating a warm, welcoming environment where our locals can enjoy a daily escape. The GM will drive sales, efficiency, and hospitality while leading a high-performing, stable team and ensuring top-quality food in a beautiful store environment.
Cafe General Manager - What You’ll Do
Ownership & Operations
- Deliver on financial targets by meeting sales revenue, average check, and labor cost goals.
- Manage COGs, ordering, scheduling, payroll, and all aspects of operational excellence.
- Lead by example with high standards for service, communication, and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Health (DOH) standards and maintain a clean, safe, and organized café environment.
People Leadership
Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team.Provide regular feedback, create clear action plans, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Build a stable, engaged team that consistently delivers outstanding hospitality.Guest Experience & Community
Be the face of the café—welcoming locals, learning names, and creating personal connections.Drive sales through genuine service, upselling, and community engagement.Participate in local events and activities to strengthen ties and grow loyal business.Premium Product & Beautiful Space
Maintain accurate product knowledge, ensure portion control, and minimize waste.Deliver beautifully presented food and beverage in a consistently inviting café environment.Ensure all opening / closing procedures and cleaning schedules are executed properly.Cafe General Manager - What We’re Looking For
2+ years of experience as a manager in a quick-service or full-service restaurant, or as a team captain.Passion for hospitality and proven success in driving sales, guest satisfaction, and operational performance.Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams under pressure.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Familiarity with POS systems and experience managing scheduling, payroll, and financial performance.A leader who demonstrates the 5Cs of Leadership : Competency, Commitment, Courage, Candor & Consistency.Cafe General Manager - Compensation & Benefits
