The Adventure Counselor is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing the Roughing It Adventure Program. Activities include : teambuilding initiatives, rock climbing, low ropes, orienteering, and mountain biking.
This program is offered to campers of all ages, but focuses most attention towards teen camper group. Life skills are taught through this program and are illustrated and reinforced through cooperative teamwork, goal setting, as well as group and individual accomplishments.
The adventure counselor must have advanced skills in rock climbing, and should have experience working with teens. S / he also will be asked to accompany and supervise campers on bus routes for our day camp and camp plus programs as needed.
It is recommended that this counselor be comfortable facilitating team-building activities, and would be helpful if s / he has had previous experience working in this capacity.
Prerequisites :
- Completed first year of college (by start of camp)
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR Certifications
- Ability to obtain Rock Climbing & Belay Certifications
- Ability to swim
