ECP Summer Camp Staff Children’s Day School (CDS) is a co-educational preschool through eighth-grade school serving over 470 students in the Mission Dolores neighborhood of San Francisco.

Spanning two campuses, and home to a diverse community of students, faculty, and families, CDS is a vibrant learning community.

Our aftercare program employs the use of indoor classrooms, an environmental ed. kitchen, wood chips area and climbing structure, a farm and garden, and a play yard among the largest independent schools in the city.

The Role CDS seeks dynamic Early Childhood Camp Teachers / Staff for the summer program. Reporting to the ECP Camp Coordinator, this position is responsible for supporting engaging camp activities for students entering Preschool through Kindergarten.

Employment dates will be roughly Monday - Friday 6 / 13 - 8 / 9, with 8 weeks of full-time camp sessions, plus dates for training before camp begins and clean up after camp ends Working hours are between 8 : 00 am - 5 : 30 pm About the Programs : Preschool Puppies is a summer camp designed for children entering preschool and continuing preschool in the fall.

This camp operates much like the typical preschool day at CDS. Campers will enjoy morning circle, project work, outdoor play, lunch, nap and snack.

Preschool Puppies is led by our experienced PM preschool teachers who are dedicated to providing a fun and enriching experience.

Activities and projects include tinkering, creative arts, music and movement, gardening and cooking. Kindergarten Kickstart is a summer camp that is designed to help incoming Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students get used to the schedule and routine of TK and K.

The day is designed to look like a regular school day and is intended to help students get excited about their new classes in the fall.

We skip nap time for quiet time, we get to know the faces and names of future teachers and specialists, and much, much more! Kickstart is a curriculum that was designed and written by the K teams specifically for summer camp.

Job Requirements High school diploma required. College-level coursework in education is preferred. 12 units of Early Childhood coursework is preferred.

Have experience teaching or leading youth activities and excellent classroom management. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as a great sense of humor.

Demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work passionately and joyfully, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.

Keep classroom, storage areas, bathrooms, and outside areas neat and orderly. Work effectively with children, families, and staff of diverse backgrounds and family structures.

Display a passion for learning and a commitment to personal-professional growth. Possesses dynamic problem-solving and communication skills.

Be proficient in technology : email, word processing, photos, etc. Compensation Hourly rate : $25 / hr - $30 / hr Physical Demands of Position The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a school employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and functions.
